DNF

I just couldn’t do it. I had such high hopes for this book, and they turned out to all be for nothing.

The main character, Piper, is a shallow influencer who after a night out partying finds herself shipped off to a small fishing town where she meets sea captain, Brendan.

Going into this book I had been told by quite a few people that I would most likely have to power through the first few chapters but then it would get better. Sadly, it did not.

I hated Piper. No matter how hard I tried to like her or tried to find some redeeming quality about her I just couldn’t. She didn’t get any better and all I wanted to do was slam my head against the wall every time Brendan seemed to fall for her ‘charm’. She was shallow and spoilt and did not get any better.

I gave up at the 66% mark, after two weeks of trying to get through the book I just knew it was not going to happen. I was never going to like the MC and when that happens there is really no hope left for the book.

Hopefully if you have read this you enjoyed it more than I did but unfortunately it was a big no from me.
